In 2015, Vlisco Women’s Month celebrated the inspiring achievements of women in West and Central Africa. 2015 theme was LIVE THE DREAM, in honour of African women who had the courage to turn their dreams into reality, despite the challenges they faced in their daily lives. Chosen by public vote, the winners became the Vlisco Brand Ambassador 2015 and visited the Netherlands.
Of course, we will take you through this trip with these great photos (by Seth Carnill) and a video!
On the first day, the ladies where welcomed in the colourful world of Vlisco in Amstelveen. To start, they were taught how to get the best out of their talents, but they also discussed topics as how they see themselves as role models. The ambassadors shared their personal, inspirational stories. To bring to a close this first impressive day, the women were informed more about the Vlisco world and background where after they, together with Vlisco colleagues, went out for a well-deserved typical ‘Dutch Meal’.
On the second day of their trip, the Vlisco ambassadors visited the factory in Helmond. In the afternoon the ladies got ‘fancied up’ for a photoshoot in the Vlisco factory. Of course, a day in Helmond wouldn’t be complete without shopping at the Vlisco Outlet store. The day was brought to an end with a sociable cooking workshop where they altogether prepared a typical Dutch meal.
On the last day of their trip, the Vlisco Women’s Month Ambassadors 2015 started off with a Connoisseur of Style workshop where they learned how to recognize a true original Vlisco fabric. After the workshop, the Ambassadors visited the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, where they were told about ancient arts and famous painters from the Netherlands. Then the Ambassadors where up for a surprise: Horse back riding at The Dutch Riding School (De Hollandsche Manege) in Amsterdam. At first, the Ambassadors where a little afraid, but after Snow, Spott, Jumper, Lucy, Julia and Fire broke the ice they took off in style like true ladies. The day ended with a Glamour Boat Tour on the beautiful canals of Amsterdam, but not before taking another fabulous group photo
